Requesting Permissions

If you would like to request permissions, you should contact your Partner User Administrator or Customer Super Administrator depending on the card.

There are 2 ways to request permissions:

  1. On the card:

2. Alternatively, you can request permissions via My Settings

Here you can see all partner authorizations and request from your User Administrator by providing a reason for needing the authorization.

General Dashboards

The authorizations required for general dashboards (other than the areas listed in the table above) are different to the Partner Dashboards. Authorizations for the general dashboards must be assigned by the customer super administrator.

You can view a guide About the User, Authorization and Administrator Concept for customer authorizations here.

These permissions can be assigned directly in the Users & Contacts Dashboard by the Customer Super Administrator.

Hi Petr,

We don't have any Partner content available yet on the mobile app. It is focused on customers so far. However, I believe your same credentials should work. Please open an incident or contact the Customer Interaction Center for further assistance.

Hi,

I just realized that the permissions for the tile "Competencies & Specializations" are very extensive: "Partner Manager" and "Security Manager"

This would give the respective person complete rights in PartnerEdge as well, which is not a good idea from a security point of view, ie. create users, etc.

We have people active in the consulting areas and have a need to know which competencies and specializations have be have been achieved, but need "read-only" access. This is not possible at the moment.

Is there any plans to change this, otherwise it will be an administrative "nightmare" to make sure that all have the necessary information.

Thanks for a response.

Best regards,

Hi Kent,

Unfortunately we do not have a read-only access.
In the future we will move to a new authorization structure which will require a Partnership Management authorization to view competencies. The reason it is restricted is because the competencies details displays sensitive details around certifications and projects which are also only visible to the Partner Manager or Security Manager today.
If your consultants only need to know which competencies and specialisations have been achieved, I would recommend leveraging your Partner Finder profile where this information is displayed to the public and no authorizations are required

Dear Aine,

do you know what role is now responsible for the license audit cockpit? Before the change there was a role named Partner License Auditor. Since the change from the 04.08 there is no such corresponding role. Do you know in which one of the new iti is included?

Thanks and Regards Alexandros

Hi Alexandros,

You should be able to access the Licence Audit Cockpit again. There were access issues due to the new authorisation structure, but this should be fixed now.

Kind regards,

Hi Aine,

Partner S-users if don't have the permissions to purchase additional licenses for their subscription, what is the process they should follow to request these authorization, specifically S4M_BUYLIC.
Is there any step-by-step guide that we can share with the Partners to follow and request these authorizations?

Hello Charanjot,

If a Partner is purchasing more of their own licenses, they need to contact the Customer Super Administrator at their company to assign the authorizations in SAP for Me. There is a how-to guide here. The SAP Customer Interaction Center can assist if there are any issues.

If the Partner is purchasing additional licenses for their customer, they need the "End Customer Ordering" authorization assigned by their Partner User Administrator in SAP for Me. Partner@sap.com can support if there are any issues.

Hi Aine,

thank you for this Blog post:) I have the following issue with my new customer : he has created a request for my S-USER to be able to create tickets for SAP Support (SuccessFactors project). However when he tries to assign me Incident Management/Display Data Cloud he can't check the boxes, the area is grayed. Where exactly he should check, specifically for these 2 authorizations, what authorizations is missing himself to be able to assign to me Incident Management/Display Data Cloud?

Thanks and regards,

Dimitar

Hi Aine,

Thanks for your response. And If a Partner is ordering additional licenses for themselves, what specific authorization is needed for an S-user who will purchase the additional order?

Hi Charanjot,

"Own License Ordering" authorization is required in that case.

Hi Bernadette,

Those dashboards are not partner-specific and so the authorization structure is a little different. Usually you do not need specific authorizations to view the cards, but may need some for specific activities such as editing data. I am not the expert but you can find out more about the required authorizations for those dashboards and the SAP One Support Launchpad migration here: About the User, Authorization and Administrator Concept (sap.com).

Kind regards,

Aine
